Kingdom Guild is paused, and I am still working on it.

I am not taking on new partners or projects at the moment, and nothing here is collecting money. There are a few real things to settle before that changes, and I would rather name them than go quiet.

Every dollar given here is meant to reach the work itself. Nothing comes out of a gift to cover running costs or to pay me. Holding that line is most of what is still open.

Ohio expects three people on a board in the ordinary case, and I have not chosen them yet. Money crossing borders brings obligations I want to understand properly before I accept anything. The running costs have to come from somewhere other than the giving, which may mean the structure ends up different from what is described below.

I am working through it with people who have done this before, rather than guessing at it. I will write to the list before the end of the year, settled or not.

It is early, and Kingdom Guild is not open for giving yet. What follows is the shape I have been building toward, with my own money, one real project at a time. Some of it may change while the questions above are still open.

Where this started · the first test

My first $100, and what it taught me.

I sent $100 of my own money to a small chicken project, given through a registered nonprofit that has done this kind of work for years. At first I got what I hoped for, a look at the coop and photos of the birds, and I could tell it was a real thing.

What I wanted after that was the steady version: what the money bought, what happened next, and what changed over the following weeks. It never came, and the reason is mine. I never agreed any of that before the money moved. I did not say what an update should contain, how often it should come, or who would be paid for the time it takes to produce one. I sent money and quietly expected a record to follow on its own. Almost no one in missions giving, including good people doing real work for years, is set up to hand you proof you can check yourself, and nobody had agreed to do it here. That gap is the whole reason Kingdom Guild exists.

So this one closes here, with no more money from me on it, and nothing in that decision counts against the people doing the work. Here is what it taught me. Proof has to be designed before the money moves and agreed by everyone, reporting is real work that belongs in the budget, and a record you can follow all the way to the end is worth more than any receipt.

Proof, not promises

Proof has to be something you can check, not something I ask you to take on faith. For most projects you check the work yourself, named and costed, down to the ledger below. For the ones where naming people would put them in danger, I verify the work myself and show you what is safe to show, while the people stay protected. That silence about names and places is exactly what honesty looks like when lives are at stake. This first test was never set up to clear that bar, because I did not build the follow-up before I sent the money. So it closes here and the standard starts with the next one. Here is the honest ledger.

When Kingdom Guild opens, every project closes with a clear ledger for the people who funded it: what reached the mission and what the card fees cost, to the dollar. Covering the fee, or adding a little to keep Kingdom Guild running, is always the giver's choice, never a cut we take off the top.

This is my own personal gift. Kingdom Guild is not yet a nonprofit and is not collecting donations.

I am David. For fifteen years my work was moving real value across borders and making sure it arrived where it was promised. I left that career to be present for what matters most, and to put what I learned toward something that lasts.

I started Kingdom Guild because giving should never require a leap of faith about where the money went. My part is to connect the people doing real mission work with the people who want to stand behind them, to make each project specific and costed, and to keep the whole thing honest and in view, including the parts that do not go to plan.

I funded the first project with my own money before asking anyone else to give. When this does open, you will see exactly where your gift went and be able to follow it to the end. I would be glad to have you with us from the start.

I will help you tell your story simply, using whatever is safe where you are, and keep the people who back you updated as the work moves forward. Where naming them would put them in danger, you will get a written account of what happened and a plain note of what I am holding back and why.
